Chuckanut Manor, long-standing historic culinary roadhouse situated alongside picturesque Chuckanut Drive, has commenced construction on a complete restaurant remodel. The building, originally built in 1934, will undergo expansive indoor and outdoor renovations aimed at improving structural integrity, long-term viability, and elevating customer experiences.

While seasonal slowdowns coupled with restrictions on restaurant operations have forced Chuckanut Manor to temporarily close its doors to the public, the circumstances have also provided owner, Meagan Pickett, the opportunity to focus her energy entirely on the remodel.

“We have such stunning views of Samish Bay and the San Juan islands and we want our restaurant to be able to compliment those views,” said Pickett. “We also want the restaurant to be around for another fifty years - so we really had to get going on this!”

On the construction agenda is a new roof, expanded outdoor dining, demolition and remodel of the main dining room, and a revamp of the restrooms. These updates will complement the kitchen renovation completed just six months ago.

The Chuckanut Manor team is excited to welcome guests back for a new and improved dining experience, offering the same high quality, Pacific Northwest cuisine they're known for.

“When everything is done, we’ll have a beautiful updated space that honors the history and tradition of Chuckanut Manor,” said Pickett. “I think customers are really going to love it!”

Construction on the Manor began in early December and the restaurant is projected to re-open March 1, 2021. Visit the Chuckanut Manor website and follow them @chuckanutmanor on both Facebook and Instagram to be informed of construction updates and the official re-opening date.
