| The views of Samish Bay and the San Juan Islands are spectacular. And sometimes, they literally take your breath away! We would like to encourage our guests to send in their shots and we'll post them to this webpage.
| "This great blue heron stood perfectly still along Bayview-Edison Road. As it waited for a meal to swim by in one of the runoff streams from Samish Bay, the sun gleamed perfectly off its iris for just a few seconds.
"Below are Trumpeter Swans - known as a very social species. Here you can see them all in a circle, flapping their wings and chattering with each other."

My friend and I had a wonderful, peaceful, relaxing time and I wanted to share some pictures of our visit... Lori Urgrin Nov 2010
Saw that you asked for pictures :) Thought I would send you ours from the best date we ever had, which we got to experience with you guys! Here is a little story to go along with our pictures. It all started with a nice drive from Whatcom Falls area down though downtown Bellingham, then Fairhaven and along Chuckanut Drive. We listened to the "best of the oldies" playlist on the i-pod while driving along the winding roads surrounded by towering evergreens. I was talking and laughing with my boyfriend, and not having a clue where we were going, but not caring because it was a Sunday afternoon with nothing to do but enjoy each others company on a summer's day. When we arrived at our destination "Chuckanut Manor" , we were warmly greeted and asked where we would like to sit. Since it was a warm summer evening we asked to sit out on the deck. We enjoyed some wine, and warm bread while taking in the beautiful surroundings of the best view in the house. I ate my first raw oysters that night and have never had any as good! After enjoying our delicious meals, we sat and admired the sunset and each others company while indulging in a sweet treat. |
I much appreciated the blankets you provided so we could sit outside just a little longer and hold on to the special evening just a little more :)
Thank you! We will be back soon! Rachael & Davey
January & February are prime bird watching times in the Skagit delta.
Anacortes photographer, Dana Styber says, " I have so many wonderful images of the Snow Geese... but still go the long route out Best road when I leave town looking for the birds anyway." See more.

Thanks for the meal and service that my family and I enjoyed at the Manor. I took the attached picture from the deck as it was a spectacular sunset. Thanks again... David Loomis
