 | The first time I had dinner at Chuckanut Manor was in 1972, and I keep coming back. Of particular note, years ago I took my soon-to-be fiance to dinner there before I proposed to her from one of the lookout spots on Chuckanut Drive. Late sunset over the San Juans, lights coming on in east Anacortes, and a full moon to the south. Highlight of my life. Every year I take her back, we have dinner (try to get the same table), and afterwards I again take her up to the spot where I first asked her to marry me, and I ask again. She always says what she said the first time - which was more than "Yes." I've eaten all over the world. Chuckanut Manor is a special place. | -- Carl Munson, 7/31/11
